Scanning the code takes the payer to your PayPal.Me page, where they still choose to enter or confirm an amount and tap to send it. No money moves until the payer completes that step on their own device.
A preset amount saves a step but is not locked in
Enter a plain number such as 25 or 25.00 and the link becomes paypal.me/yourname/25, which PayPal shows in your account’s currency. The payer can still change the number before sending, so do not rely on it to prevent someone paying a different amount.
Use your PayPal.Me name exactly as it appears in your account
Double-check the spelling and capitalization of your PayPal.Me name in your PayPal settings before generating the code, since a mistyped name points to the wrong page or no page at all.
Test the code yourself before displaying it publicly
