How to make it

This QR code only opens your profile; it never moves money by itself
Scanning the code takes the payer to your Venmo profile, where they still have to choose an amount and confirm the payment themselves. No money moves until the payer completes that step on their own device.
Why the amount and note are not built into the link
Venmo does not publish a documented way to put a preset amount or note into a shareable link, and the unofficial parameters some tools use have stopped working over time. This generator encodes the plain profile link instead, so if the amount matters, print it next to the code.
Use your Venmo username exactly as it appears in the app
Check the exact spelling and capitalization of your username under your Venmo profile before generating the code, since a mistyped name points to the wrong profile or no profile at all.
Test the code yourself before sharing it
Scan the generated code with your own phone and confirm it opens your correct Venmo profile before printing it or displaying it publicly.
The plain link works where a QR code cannot
A QR code needs a camera pointed at it, so it does nothing in a Linktree, an Instagram bio, an email footer or a text message. The link this page encodes is venmo.com followed by your username, and it is the same destination either way: paste the link into anything you type into, and use the code on anything you print.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Your Venmo username is part of the encoded link, so a printed code keeps pointing to the old name if you change it. If you expect it to change, encode a short URL on a domain you own that redirects to your profile, and update the redirect instead. See our guide on whether QR codes expire.

No. The QR code only opens your Venmo profile page. The payer still has to choose an amount and actively confirm the payment in their own Venmo app; nothing is charged or transferred automatically by scanning.

Venmo’s parameters for preset amounts are not documented and have changed over time, so this generator does not use them. The code points to your plain profile link; print the amount and note next to the code instead.

No, as long as your username stays the same. It is a static code: your profile link is encoded in the image itself.

No, a personal Venmo account works the same way. You just need your username, which any Venmo user has by default.

Yes. A Venmo profile link only lets someone find your profile and choose to pay you, the same as if they had searched your username in the app. It does not give anyone access to your account or the ability to withdraw funds.

Venmo shows you one in the app, under the Me tab, and for paying someone face to face that is all you need. Generate one here when the app’s version will not do the job: a screenshot of a phone screen is too low-resolution to print without going blurry, the app has no way to hand you the code on a computer, and you cannot drop it into a flyer or a sign at the size you want. This page gives you the same destination as a PNG, SVG or PDF you can print at any size.
